Goods &
Services Tax (GST)

GST is charged on goods and services that are supplied in Malaysia or imported into Malaysia at every stage of the supply chain. It was implemented in Malaysia for only a short period of time from on 1st April 2015 until 31st May 2018 with a rate of 6%. The GST rate was subsequently revised to ZERO effective 1st June 2018 before being officially repealed and replaced by Sales and Services Tax (SST) on 1st September 2018 onwards.
